Deirdre K. Breakenridge is Chief Executive Officer at Pure Performance Communications. A veteran in PR, marketing and branding, Breakenridge has counseled senior level executives at organizations including the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, JVC, Kraft, Nasdaq, NBA and Sysomos.
Breakenridge is the author of five Financial Times books. Her most recent book, “Social Media and Public Relations: Eight New Practices for the PR Professional,” was published in May 2012 and available in print and all digital formats. Her other books include, “Putting the Public Back in Public Relations,” “PR 2.0, New Media, New Tools, New Audiences,” “The New PR Toolkit” and “Cyberbranding.” Breakenridge will be releasing her sixth book, “Answers for Modern Communicators” to be published by Routledge in October 2017.
As an adjunct professor, Breakenridge teaches online PR and social media courses for the UMASS at Amherst Journalism Department and for Rutgers University’s PR Certificate course. She speaks nationally and internationally on the topics of PR, marketing, branding and social media communications.
Breakenridge is a LinkedIn Learning Instructor with three video courses on the Public Relations Fundamentals, Media Training and Handling an Unruly Audience. She has two additional marketing courses that will be published by LinkedIn Learning in 2017.
Breakenridge is the host of a podcast program, Women Worldwide, interviewing women around the globe who are encouraged to share their incredible stories, educating, imparting advice and offering insights to show listeners. Women Worldwide has recently joined the C-Suite Radio Network the home of podcasts for top business leaders and innovators.
NJBIZ named Breakenridge as one of the Best 50 Women in Business in the state of New Jersey in 2015. She also joined the ranks of the Top 250 Women Leaders published by Richtopia in 2016 and 2017.
