We’re delighted to share that Aisha Harris, a seasoned journalist and cultural commentator, will be interviewing Issa Rae at Content Marketing World 2024. With her extensive experience covering the intersection of arts, society, and media, Aisha brings a unique perspective that will enrich the discussion on the keynote stage.
Aisha is currently a co-host and reporter for the NPR podcast Pop Culture Happy Hour. From 2012 to 2018, she covered culture for Slate Magazine as a staff writer, editor, and host of the film and TV podcast Represent. During this time, she explored a wide range of topics, from the history of self-care to Dolly Parton’s (formerly Dixie) Stampede, and interviewed notable creators like Barry Jenkins and Greta Gerwig.
In 2018, Aisha joined The New York Times as the assistant TV editor on the Culture Desk, producing impactful pieces such as a feature Q&A with the Exonerated Five and an in-depth exploration of the emotional climax of the Pixar movie Coco. By 2019, she had moved to the Opinion Desk as a culture editor, where she continued to write and edit pieces at the intersection of the arts, society, and politics.
Born and raised in Connecticut, Aisha earned her bachelor’s degree in theatre from Northwestern University and her master’s degree in cinema studies from New York University. She is also the author of the essay collection Wannabe: Reckonings with the Pop Culture that Shapes Me.
