While coming to Content Marketing World is all about the education, breakout sessions, keynotes and learning, in between it all we need to make time to network, see each other (I mean many times, it’s the one time of year we see each other face to face! Group hug!) and laugh a little. Here’s a little more detail on some of the activities that will happen at CMWorld 2018.
You can find all of this on our Happenings Page on our website, but here are a few more details below:
6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
Eliot’s Bar – Hilton Cleveland Downtown
100 Lakeside Avenue East
Cleveland, OH 44114
If you arrive early and have some free time Monday evening, come say hello to the CMI team. We’ll be hanging out at Eliot’s Bar at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown. Many times this includes our speakers, our international attendees who, rightly so, don’t pop in for 48 hours, and much of our CMI/UBM team. It’s a great and lowkey way to start the event, and we’d love to see you there in this small setting.
7:30 pm – 10:00 pm
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
1100 Rock and Roll Boulevard
Cleveland, OH 44114
Join us for a fantastic evening of fun, food and networking at the legendary Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. YES – we’ll have access to the entire Rock Hall, including all collections and special exhibits. The Rock Hall recently went through a bit of a facelift, and you’ll really want to see the changes. Thanks to our friends from Skyword for again creating a fabulous excitement around our opening event.
We’re not going to lie, we think the CMI team is most excited about these new fun ways to start our days at CMWorld. We DO log some impressive step counts on our Fitbits running throughout the convention center over the 4 days of the event, but to start the day with our community in a focused way is really exciting!
Meet at Lakeside Entrance, Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland
Get some exercise and enjoy some of the city’s biggest attractions — the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of fame, Lake Erie, the Browns stadium, and more. Join us for a 3-mile run or 1-mile walk. Meet our team captain, CMI Creative Director, Joseph Kalinowski, at the Lakeside entrance of the Huntington Convention Center. Let us know if you are interested on our Facebook event page. *THIS HAPPENS THURSDAY MORNING AS WELL!
Meet in Ballroom area, Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland
Start your day with mindful meditation and exercise and join us for early-morning yoga. We’ll meet inside the Huntington Convention Center — please use the Lakeside entrance. All skill levels are welcome. Namaste! Let us know if you are interested on our Facebook Event page. * There will be yoga mats available for use, but if you have a favorite, please bring it along. And if you’re a Clevelander and can throw yours in your car, that would be great! *THIS HAPPENS THURSDAY MORNING AS WELL!
5:45 pm – 7:00 pm
Concured Expo Hall Near Booth 311
A day of learning is far from ruff. But if you’re looking for a fun way to unwind, you’ll want to join us for Yappy Hour with City Dogs Cleveland. A $5 donation to The Orange Effect Foundation gives you 5 minutes of belly rubs and kisses. (To thank CityDogsCLE for their visit, CMI will be donating to the organization. Win-win!)
Doors open at 8:30 pm / Concert at 9:00 pm
House of Blues
308 Euclid Ave,
Cleveland, OH 44114
Our Wednesday mid-conference night out will take place at House of Blues Cleveland where we’ll dance the night away to Your Generation in Concert, a live multimedia spectacular celebrating 5 decades of pop, rock, dance and R&B hits. We look forward to singing along and dancing with this 8-piece tribute band! New this year: House of Blues Karaoke! This band has gotten rave reviews from CMIers Lisa Dougherty and John Hanson, and we hope you love them as much as we do.
6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Pickwick & Frolic Restaurant
2035 E 4th St,
Cleveland, OH 44115
Orange you glad you decided to stay for Friday sessions and industry labs? Join Joe and Pam Pulizzi at Pickwick & Frolic on E 4th street for a night of networking, food, and drinks from 6 to 10 pm. Your badge is your free admission! It’s going to be a great way to learn about The Orange Effect Foundation, meet Nick Kostis and the amazing staff at Pickwick, and see Pam, Joe, and other CMWorld attendees who stick around for a night of great fun.
