You Really Like #CMWorld

Instagram racks up a lot of likes every day. (Word on the internet is 4.2 billion likes daily. Several articles quote that statistic, but I can’t find a source. Take it for what it’s worth.) I scroll incessantly through my feed, double tapping photo after photo. Why do I like pics? Maybe they make me smile. Maybe the photo’s subject is one I connect with. Maybe I simply want to acknowledge I saw it. No matter what, that heart makes me happy.

Instagram likes may disappear someday, but they’re currently used to measure the popularity of posts on the platform. As CMI’s community manager, I rely on them to identify what content resonates with our followers. This is particularly true during Content Marketing World. Over 600 photos included the #CMWorld hashtag the week of the event. That translated to over 15,000 likes. We’re no Instagram egg, but I think our community likes what they see.

Next-Level Notetaking

If you attended CMWorld, you undoubtedly saw the Kingman Ink team at work. The talented artists created the beautiful visuals displayed around the conference.

The graphic recordings always draw a crowd. (No pun intended.) It’s not uncommon to find speakers and attendees congregated around them. So it’s no surprise our most liked Instagram photo is of the founder of Pura Vida Bracelets, standing with visual notes from his session. Other speakers posed with the colorful summary of their presentation as well.

Hard Acts to Follow
At CMWorld, we aim to bring in keynote speakers will inspire and motivate today’s content marketers. They can be an industry leader or bold storyteller. In a brief period of time, this year’s keynotes moved us. They called for meaningful change. They invited us on an emotional journey. Tamsen Webster opened our main conference with her talk, Getting the Greenlight: How to Build Content People Say Yes To. Closing the day was actor and musician Henry Rollins. Both stole the show and made our list of top Instagram posts.

Introducing “The Land” to Content Marketing World
We’re often asked, “why do you hold the conference in Cleveland?” Here are two big reasons:

1. CMI was founded in Northeast Ohio. Cleveland is home.
2. Cleveland is a vibrant city with a rich history. We’re not the “mistake on the lake.” It has eclectic neighborhoods, award-winning restaurants, and more.

Just look at these photos from attendees. All three locations are walking distance from the convention center and show off the awesome architecture of the area.
